Golden Paragraph: Brigitte EVRARD is a full professor in Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy at the University of Liège, Belgium. She received his Pharmacy Degree (1985) and Ph.D. (1992) from the University of Liège. After visiting the Laboratory of « Pharmacotechnie industrielle » of University of Lille 2, France for a post-doctoral position (2003-2004), she became Professor at the University of Liège (2007). She is heading the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy of the Center for interdisciplinary research on Medicines at University of Liège. Over the past 25 years, she has made fundamental and applied contributions to the fields of drug delivery in particular on the improvement of drugs bioavailability and on the optimization of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. In this context, part of her research is focused on particle engineering of new inhaled formulations mainly based on cyclodextrin-API complexation in order to modulate dissolution and absorption pathways. Several of her inventions have been patented and licensed to the pharmaceutical industry. Prof. Evrard has authored more than 110 refereed articles and 3 book chapters. She also published her work in more than 220 posters or oral presentations at national and international scientific meetings. She is member of several scientific societies (AAPS, APGI, and Belgian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences)).
