Golden Paragraph: Catalina Natalia Cheaburu-Yilmaz holds a Researcher position in the Department of Physical Chemistry of Polymers of “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry from Romanian Academy.
For a period of two years she got awarded with a EC-FP7 Marie Curie Actions-People-COFUND project of TUBITAK called CO-FUNDED Brain Circulation Scheme (Co-Circulation Scheme) at “EGE” University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Technolog, Izmir, Turkey. The main aim of her stage is preparation of topical pharmaceutical formulation based on biopolymers by using advanced organic techniques to design the polymeric architecture.
The primary research activity of Catalina in SimInhale is the development of different pharmaceutical formulation based on natural polymers, responsive to the action of various stimuli with special properties which make them ideal candidates for controlled delivery of active substances. By combining her knowledge regarding polymeric systems and their physical chemical properties, with SimInhale members’ expertize on the inhalers, Catalina is interested in obtaining of different polymeric systems by using modern and cotrolled sysnthesis techniques to design proper systems for inhalatory administration of drugs. She is looking into strenghtneing the collaboration between chemists i.e. polymer chemists with pharmaceutical scientists and further collaboration between the research groups.
