Golden Paragraph: Eleonore Fröhlich is a medical doctor with a diploma in Biochemistry. Since 2007 she is Director of the Core Facility Imaging at the Center for Medical Research of the Medical University of Graz, Austria, and extraordinary professor at the Institute of Anatomy of the University of Tübingen, Germany. Since 2013 she is Chairperson and Scientific Advisor of the Animal Welfare Body of the Medical University of Graz and Key Researcher at the Competence Center Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering in Graz. As active member of the European Center for Nanotoxicology (EURO-NanoTox) coordinated by BioNanoNet GmbH, Graz, her group develops protocols for the standardized testing of nanoparticles. Her research addresses toxicological effects of (nano)particles by in-vitro studies in general with specific focus on models for chronic exposure and physiologically relevant testing of inhaled particles. The Core facility further offers analyses by light microscopy and flow cytometry and standardized cytotoxicity testing according to ISO 10993 guidelines.
