Golden Paragraph: Philipp Hofemeier recently finished his PhD at the department of biomedical engineering at the Technion – Israeli Institute of Technology. Where he explores particle transport and deposition in the respiratory region of the lung by means of computational simulations. He mainly focuses on predicting deposition efficiencies for pulmonary drug delivery applications. In SimInhale, Philipp is mainly interested in bridging the gap between computational models of the upper conducting airways and the respiratory region. Utilizing the expertise of other SimInhale member in upper airway simulations, Philipp has joined efforts to build a multi scale lung model. Furthermore, he is working on exchanging data and parameters to improve boundary conditions and increase the accuracy of computational deposition maps.
